An exciting opportunity has become available to work within an innovative and dynamic commodity metals brokerage and market maker. We are looking for an enthusiastic and entrepreneurial Junior Operations Clerk with a can-do attitude to join our experienced Operations Department.
Working within the Operations Department you will gain exposure to all areas of the business, including working very closely with the Trading, Risks and Finance departments daily, to help complete a wide range of tasks and responsibilities. You will gain a wide understanding of all aspects of the business as well a wider understanding of the London Metal Exchange (LME) derivatives market.
What we are looking for
The candidate should have strong mathematical and analytical skills, whilst having excellent attention to detail. Working well within a team is also important. Training will be provided on all internal and market systems, so being comfortable and confident with IT is another important part of the role.
To help support your progression we will provide you with the opportunity to pass the CISI level 2 Award in Fundamentals of Financial Services, which we expect to be completed within your first 6 months.
What you will be doing
Tasks will include:
- Trade input
- Various reconciliations
- Using LME systems to monitor trade matching and clearing
- Using LME systems to move warrants and satisfy delivery obligations
- Work with Front Office Dealers to agree company positions
- Liaise with customers to help resolve their queries and answer any questions they may have
- Working on a shift basis between 7:30am – 7:30pm
